A transportation supervisor for a large shipper of plastic parts needed some answers on a time-sensitive shipment, and she needed them fast. After not receiving answers to multiple emails she’d sent that day, she called her freight broker – panicked – only to be handed off to a junior (green?) account rep.  The recent college grad did what he could, but he hadn’t been trained well enough to truly solve the problem. The shipment arrived late, and other expensive problems surfaced because of it, not to mention the fractured relationships because of broken promises. (that’s a true story, by the way) Have you experienced something like this? No offense to those just out of school – because it’s their leader’s mistake to have placed them in a job that they’re not ready or prepared for – but when it comes to executing high-end solutions to urgent and potentially-expensive problems, people like you need SUPERMAN, not Clark Kent.
