| The price of fuel – particularly diesel – continues to be a hot topic in our industry. We have some good news to report – the national average for diesel dropped 4.6 cents to $3.674 a gallon, according to Energy Information Administration data released Dec. 6. Diesel has been sliding downwards for the past three weeks, dropping 6 cents after nine weeks of rising prices. Putting This in Perspective: a gallon of gasoline now costs $1.148 more than it did at this time in 2020. According to the EIA, all ten regions of the U.S. saw price declines.
