The price of fuel – particularly diesel – continues to be a hot topic in our industry.

We have some good news to report – the national average for diesel dropped 4.6 cents to $3.674 a gallon, according to Energy Information Administration data released Dec. 6.

Diesel has been sliding downwards for the past three weeks, dropping 6 cents after nine weeks of rising prices.

Putting This in Perspective: a gallon of gasoline now costs $1.148 more than it did at this time in 2020.

According to the EIA, all ten regions of the U.S. saw price declines.

The Midwest dropped the most at 6.6 cents to $3.536 a gallon
New England had the smallest price drop – 1.2 cents to $3.654
California is where diesel fuel is most expensive – dropping 2.9 cents to $4.789

How long will diesel prices continue to drop?
