A key piece of the latest infrastructure bill passed by the House of Representatives was the creation of a training and apprentice program for under-21 commercial drivers to haul interstate.

Currently, a trained 20 year commercial driver can haul a load from Dallas, TX to El Paso, TX (~9 hrs) but cannot haul a load from Dallas, TX to Shreveport, LA (~3 hrs). This bill now allows the trained 20-year-old to drive from one state to another.

This will only add drivers to the industry, but some worry 18 is too young to start training commercial drivers. What do you think?
