WHY CHOOSING A FREIGHT BROKER ON PRICE ALONE COULD HURT YOUR BOTTOM LINE

(PART I OF A FOUR-PART SERIES)

Costs. Expenses. Margin.  đź’° đź’˛ đź’µ

Especially now, controlling the financial aspects of freight movement is under an intense microscope – as it should be. At a minimum, profitability is at stake. With that in mind, please consider this basic truth:

🤜 In trucking, there inevitably will be challenges to overcome; unexpected hurdles to clear. How effectively those hurdles are handled will determine whether or not the shipment is profitable.

Here’s a recent example that exemplifies what we mean:

đźš›  RARE EQUIPMENT NEEDED, PLEASE! A customer of ours required 53-foot trailers with liftgates – rare equipment that’s in high demand, to say the least. After some lengthy due diligence, we provided traditional 53-footers, BUT also located companies that could bring forklifts to the receiving site so the receiver could unload the freight themselves.

Results?

👉  Expedited transit times

👉  Significant cost savings for the customer

👉  Customer satisfaction through the roof!

It turns out that while our quote was competitive, it was actually our ingenuity – the innovative ways we approach problem-solving at #mfw â€“ that really made this move cost-effective.

A broker’s quote is but one piece of the “overall cost puzzle.” However, it’s the potential HIDDEN costs that lurk within freight transportation that can erode profitability, customer delight, and your certainty.
